PI Study Guide Example

1) As an investigator, You may gain access to private records by:

a) Presenting a request letter on your business stationary

b) Obtaining a search warrant from the courthouse

c) Encouraging the individual to turn the records in as a reasonable thing to do

d) Requesting the local police department to obtain the records for you

2) To reduce the risk of being detected on a surveillance assignment, you should

a) Perform the surveillance after sunset

b) Scout the location and probable routes

c) Tell the neighbors what you’re doing so they won’t interfere with the assisgnment
